Grade 17-4PH & S17400 is A Precipitation Hardening Martensitic Stainless steel with an addition of Nb/Cu elements. Grade 17-4PH Combines High Strength, hardness (up to HRC40), and corrosion resistance. Mechanical properties at RM can be optimized with final age treatment. Chemical Composition (Mass wight - %) - Grade 17-4PH C (％): ≤ 0.07 Si (％): ≤ 1.00 Mn (％): ≤ 1.00 P (％)≤: 0.040 S (％)≤: 0.030 Cr (％): 15.0 ~ 17.5 Ni (％): 3.00 ~ 5.00 Mo (％): — Cu (％): 3.00～5.00 Nb+Ta (%): 0.15 ~ 0.45 Mechanical Properties At Room Temperature. Shapes: Round bar, Flat bar, Ring, and Forgings Tensile strength, σb≥/MPa: 930 Yield strength, σ0.2≥/MPa: 785 Elongation, δ≥(％): 10.0 Hardness |HRC: Hardness |HBS: 277 Introduction: The alloy is usually produced by BEF & AOD followed by electroslag remelting (ESR) / VAR if necessary for special purpose. Bars and, where applicable, forgings are subjected to ultrasonic examination based on the different levels according to the buyers' requirements. 100% Ultrasonic test ASTM E2375 /SAE AMS 2154 /SEP 1923 /GB/T 4162 /EN 10228-3.
